Yael Stone

  Yael Stone is an Australian actress from Australia. She has been a frequent performer in Australian theatre and has won two Sydney Theatre Awards. On screen, she is best known for her portrayal of Lorna Morello in the Netflix series Orange Is the New Black. Stone is well-known as a pro-abortion advocate who has fought for rights, climate protection and for her work in promoting women's rights. Stone was born and was raised in Sydney, New South Wales she is her parents being Judy, a nurse, as well as Harry Stone, an architect.Her father was born in Czechoslovakia, to Holocaust parents who survived the Holocaust. Stone's father is from an ethnically Jewish family, as does her mother, who was from Romanian origin, converted to Judaism. Stone's sister, Jake Stone is the main singer in Bluejuice. Stone's sister Elana Stone is also a musician. Stone began acting as an infant, with roles in the movie Me Myself I, and the miniseries The Farm. She was mostly involved with theatre. In 2008, at the Sydney Theatre Awards she won the award for Best Newcomer and the Best Supporting Actress prize for her role in The Kid.
