Vanna White

  Vanna White born Vanna Marie RosichFebruary 18, 2005 is a popular American TV host. She has been popular as the Wheel of Fortune hostess since 1982. Vanna Marie Rosich was born on February 18, 1957, close to North Myrtle Beach in Horry County, South Carolina, the daughter of Joan Marie (Nicholas) and Miguel Angel Rosich. Her parents divorced while she was just a child and she was raised by her mother, Joan, and stepfather, Herbert White Jr. (1925-2022) living who lived in North Myrtle Beach. White took the name of her stepfather, who was a former real estate broker. White was greeted by a flood of support, announced that her stepfather passed away peacefully on April 1, 2022. White graduated from high school, and then moved to Atlanta, Georgia where she was a student at The Atlanta School of Fashion and Design and also worked as model. She moved to Los Angeles in 1979 to pursue an acting career. She spent the summer of 1980 in South Carolina with her mother who was suffering from cancer of the ovary. Before appearing on TV in 1980, White was a contestant in the Miss Georgia USA 1978 pageant.White's first appearance in the game show was the June 20 episode, 1980, of The Price Is Right, where she was one of the contestants who were first. White was not able to make it on stage, but the footage of her running in the Contestants' Row was rebroadcast in The Price Is Right 25th Anniversary Special in August 1996, The Price Is Right celebrates 50 years in September 2021 (in which she also appeared as a Guest Model during the program) as well as in the show's special show Game Show Moments Gone Bananas. White appeared in a film in the year 1980 that was in production. The film was later edited and made available in the form of Gypsy Angels in June 1990. She was part of the 1981 film Looker as well as starred as Doris in Graduation Day, an American horror film that was directed and produced by Troma Entertainment.
