Kari Elizabeth Byron, born on December 18, 1974 was an American television host. Her most well-known work is for her roles on the MythBusters series and White Rabbit Project series. Byron was born in the California's Bay Area. She attended Los Gatos High School in Los Gatos, California, and studied at San Francisco State University, graduating in May 1998 with an undergraduate degree in film and sculpture. From 2004 until 2014, she was an active MythBusters cast member. She was part of "The Build Team" that is known as the B Team, along with co-cast members Tory Belleci (and Grant Imahara). This Build Team worked with Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman to test the plausibility of various myths throughout their time with the show. She hosted her own segments, along with the other hosts. She was a part of the show after repeatedly showing up at Hyneman's M5 Industries workshop in a determination to be hired by his company. She and the other Build Team members were given an additional role during the second season. Byron is a newcomer to the show and hasn't had a long-running career in show business, initially found it difficult to act naturally in this more prominent position. However, she slowly became more comfortable with the position.
