Yasmine Al Massri, an actress, dancer and video artist, is an human rights activist. Her birthplace was in Beirut, Lebanon to a Palestinian father and an Egyptian mother. She is also an French citizen as well as an American citizen. She made her debut in film in the 2007 film Caramel. In 2015, Massri starred as Nimah Amin and Raina Amin, identical twins in the ABC thriller series Quantico. She moved to Paris to live and study, and in 2007 graduated from the Ecole nationale superieure des Beaux-Arts and began her career as a dancer with the Souraya Baghdadi dance troupe. Massri made her debut on the big screen in 2007's critically-acclaimed Lebanese LGBT-themed comedy drama film Caramel directed by Nadine Labaki. The film premiered during the 2007 Cannes Film Festival. Massri was awarded the Best Actress Award at 2007 Abu Dhabi Film Festival and was nominated for the Asia Pacific Screen Awards Best Actress Award. She was a part of Al-mor wa Al Rumman, Al Juma Al Akheira and Miral, which were all produced internationally.
