Berenice Lim Marlohe, born 19 May 1979, is a French actress. In Skyfall, the twenty-third James Bond movie, she played the role of Severine as an anti-heroine Bond girl. Her television credits include Pere et Maire, Femmes de loi, and Equipe medicale d'urgence. She played an uncredited character in the French comedy Happiness Never Comes Alone with Sophie Marceau. She is also a brand spokesperson for Omega Watches. Marlohe was born and raised in Paris. Her father, who was a French doctor was of Cambodian as well as Chinese descent. Marlohe's mom, a French teacher, is also French. Lim is her paternal grandmother's surname. Her initial goals were becoming a musician and also an artist. She was enrolled at the French arts school Conservatoire de Paris for ten years. Marlohe first made her appearance in 2007 in the French short film titled La disconance. She later was featured in French television shows like Pas de secrets among us (2008) Femmes de loi (2008) and R.I.S. police scientist (2009). She was on the show twice: French crime drama R.I.S, police scientifique, once in 2009 and another time in 2012. She was the date for Laurent in Happiness Never Comes Alone in 2009 and 2012. An avid believer in destiny, she stated that she had a dream of performing alongside Javier Bardem six months before her Bond audition, and following the dream, she knew everything would be fine. Bardem was cast only after her second audition for Skyfall. She was the main character in 5 to 7 in 2015, and was in Song to Song 2017, with Natalie Portman, Ryan Gosling and Rooney Mara.
