Aubrey plaza

  Aubrey Christina Plaza was born June 26 1984. She is an American comedian, actress, and producer. Her career began when she performed sketches and improv at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater. She played April Ludgate on the NBC sitcom Parks and Recreation (2009-2015), and later featured in the FX drama series Legion (2017-2019). Plaza was the first actress to take on a leading role in a film called Safety Not Guaranteed (2012). She was also in film series Mystery Team (2009), Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (2010), Monsters University (2013), Life After Beth (2014), Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates (2016), The Little Hours (2017), An Evening with Beverly Luff Linn (2018), Child's Play (2019) The Happy Season (2020), and Emily the Criminal (2022). Plaza was born in Wilmington, Delaware, to Bernadette, an attorney, and David Plaza, a financial advisor. There are two sisters younger than her, Renee and Natalie.Plaza was named in honor of the song "Aubrey" by Bread. Her father is of Puerto Rican descent; her paternal grandfather Ismael was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico and relocated to the mainland US when he was 17 years old. Her mother is of Irish and English descent. She has also stated she is of Taino ancestry.Plaza has said "I was like the only different kid in my high school, and I'm half-Puerto Ricon. But, yeah I have a large family and tons of cousins in Puerto Rico." She grew up "very Catholic in a very Catholic family" and stated that the combination of that and movies is her "favorite thing ever", talking about her love of Christmas and films. She was a graduate of Ursuline Academy, an all-girls Catholic school, in 2002.
