Anna Chlumsky

  American actress Anna Maria Chlumsky was born on December 3, 1980. As a youngster she started acting. She is most well-known for her role as Vada in the 1991 film My Girl and its sequel 1994. In the wake of her initial roles, she went on an absence from 1999 until 2005 to go to college.Chlumsky was back in the acting world in parts in various independent films that included Blood Car (2007) and In the Loop (2009). She portrayed Amy Brookheimer on the HBO television show Veep (2012-2019), which brought her nominations for six times for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in the field of Comedy Series among other accolades.Chlumsky was born in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Nancy (nee Zuncic) who was a performer, actress, and former flight attendant and Frank Chlumsky Jr., an entrepreneur and saxophone player. Her family was a Catholic family. Chlumsky is from Czech and Croatian heritage. Chlumsky chose to take a break from acting and attend University of Chicago. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies in 2002. After college she was employed as a fact-checker for the Zagat Survey. She then relocated to New York City, which was followed by a job as an editor's assistant for the HarperCollins science fiction-fantasy imprint; however, she felt her experience in the publishing industry was unfulfilling and indifferent. Chlumsky ultimately returned to acting following her formal education at the Atlantic Acting School in Manhattan Chlumsky played Mary Calvin in a season 17 episode of Law & Order, first airing on January 12, 2007; and as Lisa Klein in a season 20 episode, first airing on March 15th, the 15th of March, 2010.
