Sharni Vinson born 22 July 1983 She is an Australian actress from Australia. Her roles include Home and Away on television as well as in the movies Bait 3D and Step Up 3D. Born in Sydney, Vinson grew up in the southern beach town of Cronulla. Vinson was a swimmer at the national level as young as she was and set the state record for four times. As a child, she began to dance, sing, and perform. In 1945, her grandmother was the first to receive a scholarship at the Brovansky Ballet Company in England. Vinson took up a place at the Brent Street School of Performing Arts in Sydney when she was twelve years old. Vinson entered the entertainment industry as a musician. When she was 17, she and three other girls created the group pop/R&B Foxfire IV. Their only single, "Roses", peaked at 47th place on the ARIA charts. They broke up shortly thereafter.Vinson made her acting debut playing minor characters in two episodes of the Australian soap show Home and Away in 2001 and 2003. She left an impression on the show's casting agent, who recommended her for a regular role on the show. After auditioning for Martha MacKenzie's role, she was eventually selected to play Cassie Turner. Cassie Turner is a troubled teenager who is placed in foster care following numerous encounters with police. Her character quickly gained acclaim among the public and was nominated by the Logie Awards in 2006 for "Most popular New Female Talent".
