Lisa Kudrow

  Lisa Valerie Kudrow ( born July 30 1963) is an American actress. Kudrow gained fame in the 1990s, after her appearances in several 1980s sitcoms. She was best known for her performance as Phoebe Buffay on the American sitcom Friends. The show aired from 1994 through 2004. Her series won her the Primetime Emmy Award and Screen Actors Guild award. Kudrow also played Phoebe’s twin sister Ursula on Friends and Mad About You. Kudrow received numerous awards, like the Primetime Emmy Award as Outstanding Supporting Actress in the field of Comedy Series (from six nominations), two Screen Actors Guild Awards, with 12 nominations, in addition to a Golden Globe Award nomination. The Friends character was well-loved while the series aired and was later hailed as one of the most popular female characters in American television.Kudrow played the lead role in the cult comedy film Romy and Michele's High School Reunion (1997) and then followed that with an award-winning performance in the romantic comedy The Opposite of Sex (1998) which earned her the New York Film Critics Circle Award for Best Supporting Actress, as well as a nomination for the Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Female. In 2005, she was chosen to produce, write and act in The Comeback, an HBO comedy show The Comeback, which was revived after nine years for another season. Kudrow was nominated for both seasons for the Primetime Emmy Award as Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.
