Julianne Moore

  Julie Anne Smith (born December 3, 1960) also known professionally as Julianne Moore, is an American actor and writer. Highly successful in film since the early 1990s, she is best known for her portrayals of emotional troubled women in independent films, in addition to her performances in blockbusters. Moore has received many awards, including the Academy Award, a British Academy Film Award and two Golden Globe Awards, and two Emmy Awards.After having studied theater at Boston University, Moore began her career in the form of a number of TV roles. She was an integral part of the soap show As the World Turns from 1985 to 1988 . She also won an Emmy Award. Daytime Emmy Award. She made her debut in film in Tales from the Darkside: The Movie (1990), then continued playing small roles in the series for the remainder of four seasons, which included the thriller The Hand That Rocks the Cradle (92). The first film she acted in was Robert Altman's Short Cuts (1993). Her later performances in Vanya On 42nd Street (1994), Safe (1995) and Safe (1995) were a big hit. Her roles in the blockbuster Nine Months (1995), and The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997) established her place as an established Hollywood leading lady. Moore was nominated for Academy Award nominations for Boogie Nights (1997), The End of the Affair (99), Far from Heaven ((2002) and The Hours ((2002)).
