Jill Scott

  Jill Heather Scott (born April 4, 1972) is an American singer, songwriter, model, poet and actress. Her 2000 debut album"Who Is Jill Scott? : Words and Sounds Vol. 1, was certified platinum. The follow-ups Beautifully Human Words and Sounds Vol. 2 (2004) and The Real Thing: Words and Sounds Vol. 3 (2007) both achieved gold status.Scott made her film debut in 2007 in Hounddog as well as Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married. She starred in BBC/HBO's 2008 series The No. Based on Alexander McCall Smith's novels 1 Ladies Detective Agency is the title of her agency. After a four-year hiatus from the music industry, Scott released her fourth album, The Light of the Sun, in 2011. In 2014, she was a character in the film Get On Up as the second wife of James Brown. The album she released her fifth, Woman, was released in 2015. In 2018, Scott was introduced as Lady Eve in The CW DC Comics superhero show Black Lightning. Scott was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on April 4 1974. She was raised in North Philadelphia by Joyce Scott and her mother. Scott reminisces about a wonderful childhood, and that she was "very much loved". Scott was raised Jehovah's Witness and was a graduate of the Philadelphia High School for Girls. Scott then attended Temple University. While working two jobs, she was studying secondary education. She hoped to become a high-school English teacher. After three years of schooling and working as a teacher's assistant Scott became disillusioned with the teaching profession and dropped out of college.
