Jessica Ellen Cornish (born 27 March 1988) is professionally known as Jessie J, is an English performer from the UK. She was born and raised in London and began her career on stage at the age of 11 with her role in the West End musical Whistle Down the Wind. After attending the BRIT School, she signed with Gut Records and struck a songwriting agreement with Sony/ATV Music Publishing. Jessie J rose to fame following her debut single "Do it Like a Dude" was released by Republic Records. The next single she released, "Price Tag", made it to the top spot in 19 countries which included the UK. The single was followed by her debut album "Who You Are (2011)", which reached the top spot at 2. The album also included songs "Nobody's Perfect" and "Who You Are”, "Domino and "Laserlight" and all were in the top ten positions of the UK Singles Chart. This made Jessie J the first British female artist with six top-ten singles from a single studio album. "Domino" also gained international success, reaching number six on the US Billboard Hot 100 and becoming her second number-one single in the UK. Jessie J was also a performer at the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Concert in Buckingham Palace, June 2012 as well as the closing ceremony of the 2012 Olympic Games in London on the 12th of August 2012.
