Emily Deschanel

  Emily Erin Deschanel (born October 11th, 1976)is an American actress. In the Fox crime procedural show Bones she played Dr. Temperance Brennan (2005-2017). Deschanel was the daughter of Caleb Deschanel, a cinematographer and director, as well as Mary Jo Deschanel (nee Weir). Her younger sister Zooey Deschanel, actress and musician, is her older brother. Her paternal grandfather was a Frenchman who lived in Oullins in Rhone was her paternal grandfather. She also has roots in English as well as Dutch. Her feature film debut came in 1994 when she starred in the romantic comedy-drama "It Could Happen to You", which her father was the cinematographer in chief. Her next role to be noticed was in the role of Pam Asbury in Stephen King's horror miniseries Rose Red in 2002. Then she appeared in Cold Mountain, The Alamo as well as Glory Road and was named one of "six actresses to follow" by Interview Magazine in 2004.In 2005, Deschanel was cast as Dr. Temperance Brennan with David Boreanaz as FBI agent Seeley Booth on the Fox crime procedural-comedy drama Bones which was based on the novels and the career of author and forensic anthropologist Kathy Reichs, created by Hart Hanson. The show ran for 12 seasons starting September 13th, 2005 to March 28, 2017. In recognition of her performance, she was awarded an award in 2006 for her performance. Satellite Award nomination and a 2007 Teen Choice Award nomination. At the start of the third season Deschanel was co-producer with Boreanaz. They changed to producers in the middle of the fourth season. While Bones was still being produced, Deschanel also played the Brennan character in an episode from 2015 of Sleepy Hollow as well as on the 2016 episode of BoJack Horseman.
