Emily Blunt

  Emily Olivia Leah Blunt (born 23 February 1983) is a British actress from the UK. Her achievements include the Screen Actors Guild Award and an Golden Globe Award. She was also nominated for three British Academy Film Awards. Forbes listed her as one the top-paid actresses worldwide in 2020. She made her acting debut in 2001's stage production of The Royal Family. After a brief appearance in Boudica (2003) and Boudica (2004), she portrayed the role of Queen Catherine Howard on the miniseries Henry VIII. In the dramatic My Summer of Love (2004), she made her debut in a feature film. Blunt's breakthrough came in 2006 when she starred in the telefilm Gideon's Daughter and the comedy-drama film The Devil Wears Prada. The former won her an award for the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress and the film was nominated for the BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role.Blunt's career grew by playing leading roles in the period film The Young Victoria (2009), the romantic comedy Salmon Fishing in the Yemen (2011), the science fiction films The Adjustment Bureau (2011), Looper (2012), and Edge of Tomorrow (2014), and the musical films Into the Woods (2014) and Mary Poppins Returns (2018). Critical acclaim was given to her role as a principled FBI agent and drunk in the suspense film The Girl on the Train (2016). The film received a nomination for the BAFTA Award in Best Actress in a Leading Role. In the horror film A Quiet Place (2018) she played a survivalist mom and she was awarded the Screen Actors Guild Award was awarded. In 2021, she starred in the sequel A Quiet Place Part II as well as the adventure film Jungle Cruise.
