Debbie Gibson

  Deborah Ann Gibson was born on the 31st of August in 1970. She is an American musician, singer and pianist. Gibson's double platinum album Electric Youth (1989) gave Gibson another number one U.S. hit with "Lost in Your Eyes". Gibson is the only songwriter to have one singles from her catalog reach the top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100. She was honoured by ASCAP as Songwriter of the Year, along with Bruce Springsteen, in 1989.Gibson continued to release and record songs throughout the 1990s and the 2000s. She reached number 24 on U.S. adult contemporary charts with "Say Goodbye" in 2006. The duet she performed with Jordan Knight was her best-selling single in the last 25 years. In 2017, she scored the highest charting hit ever since "I Am Peaceman", which she performed alongside Sir Ivan. Gibson's 2020 single "Girls Night Out" became her first top 5 and the highest-charting single after more than 30 years. Apart from her music, she's had starring roles on Broadway as well as touring musicals including playing Eponine in Les Miserables and Sandy in Grease and also films and television work.
