Chaka Khan

  Yvette Marie Stevens was born on on March 23, 1953, better known as Chaka Khan is an American musician and singer. Her career spans more than 50 years. Her career began in the 1970s, as the lead vocalist of Rufus, a funk group. Khan was dubbed the Queen of Funk, was the first R&B artist to have the crossover hit that featured the artist. She released "I Feel for You" in 1984. Khan has been awarded 10 Grammy Awards and has sold around 70 million albums worldwide.With Rufus, she achieved four gold singles and four gold albums as well as two platinum albums. Khan has scored three gold singles as well as three gold albums throughout her solo career. She also released a platinum album "I Love You". Khan has worked with Ry Cooder, Robert Palmer, Ray Charles, Quincy Jones, Guru, Chicago, De La Soul, Mary J. Blige, among others. She was ranked 65th in Billboard magazine in December 2016. She was ranked the number. She was 17 on VH1's first list of 100 Greatest Women of Rock & Roll. She was nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction three times as an individual artist and four times as a member of Rufus featuring Chaka Kan. The first time she appeared in Rufus in 2012.
