Camilla Belle Routh was born on 2 October, 1986 is an American actress and director. Belle was the daughter of Deborah Cristina Gould, and Jack Wesley Routh (a country music composer and performer). She was a student at Marlborough School, an all-girl high school in Los Angeles. She grew up speaking English as well as Portuguese. She was fluent in both Portuguese and English throughout her childhood. Her debut film, Trapped Beneath the Earth is her debut film from 1992. Belle started her career in 1995 when she played a small part in the film version of A Little Princess (1995). She played Cathy Bowman in The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997). The character was a wealthy, young British girl who is attacked by the pack of Compsognathus. In 1998, she played Aubrey Shepard on the Focus on the Family radio drama Adventures in Odyssey. After her role as Steven Seagal’s daughter in The Patriot (1998) she was nominated for a 1999 Youth in Film Young Artist Award nomination. She also received a second nomination for her appearance as a guest on the TV series Walker: Texas Ranger.
