Amy Smart

  Amy Lysle Smart (born March 26 1976) is an American actress. A native of Los Angeles, Smart began her modeling career in Italy and then enrolled in acting school.Her first film role was in director Martin Kunert's anthology horror film Campfire Tales, followed by the role of a minor character in Paul Verhoeven's Starship Troopers (1997). In 1998, Smart played a role in Dee Snider's Strangeland. Following her appearance in Varsity Blues (1999), an adult-oriented drama, and her recurring role in Felicity (1999-2001) in which Smart was recognized as a household name. This was followed by her leading role in the sexy college comedy Road Trip (2001) and the co-starring role in Jerry Zucker's ensemble comedy Rat Race 2001. She was the lead opposite Ashton Kutcher in the sci-fi drama The Butterfly Effect (2004).Smart co-starred alongside Ryan Reynolds and Anna Faris in Just Friends (2005), then the drama about sports Peaceful Warrior (2006). From 2011 to 2012, she starred in the role of Jasmine Hollander on the series Shameless. Later, she starred as Jasmine Hollander on Tyler Perry's comedy The Single Moms Club (2014). Since the year 2020, Smart has starred as Barbara Whitmore in the DC Universe/The CW superhero drama series Stargirl. Smart was born in Los Angeles and raised in Topanga Canyon. Her mother, Judy Lysle (nee Carrington) was employed in a museum, and her father, John Boden Smart, was an agent. She took ballet classes for ten years, and graduated from Palisades Charter High School.
